I know that I’m not a child anymore. I’m never going to see the age of 16 or even 26 again, however, when October rolls around, I feel like that child again because I have my pick of which haunted houses in South Carolina I want to visit. Now, I have been to some terrible (not in a good way) haunted houses and I have been to some that were outrageously good. That’s the reason I made this list for you guys; so you wouldn’t have to wonder where to find a terribly good haunted house. Just beware you may find that these eight scream fests are beyond terrifying.

1. Scream Acres, 1137 Old Camden Rd, Bishopville

Nationally ranked as one of the Top 25 haunted houses that are a must-see. You may not make it out of Scream Acres alive...

2. Kreepy Hollow, 1251 Joe Dority Rd, Bishopville,

Kreepy Hollow claims to be the best haunted house in South Carolina. They have a lot going on, including a 2-story haunted house - which, I might add, is just a bit intimidating, but absolutely terrifically horrifying.

3. Nightmare Dungeon, 645 Old Anderson Road, Greenville

Three in one! Nightmare Dungeon definitely should be on your "check it out" list!

4. Hall of Horrors, 1153-B Walter Price Rd, Columbia (Cayce)

Hall of Horrors is one of the oldest haunted houses in the Midlands! That says a lot. This year, they have something different going on where you can be a part of the scare!

5. Deceased Farm, 382 Olde Farm Rd., Lexington

It happens at night, in a field, in the dark... You just might want to bring a friend or two with you to Deceased Farm. This could be the scariest haunted house in South Carolina!

6. Boone Hall Fright Night, 3075 Morningdale Drive, Mt. Pleasant

Boone Hall Fright Night is the largest haunted attraction in South Carolina with 3 different attractions together, and each year they change it up.

7. Dark Castle Haunted Attraction, 2076 Highway Church Road, Elgin

Dark Castle Haunted Attraction is another one where you can get three attractions in one, or you can do whichever you choose. They'll take you through an enormous warehouse, into the woods, and into the action, but will you find your way back?

8. Booger Jim's Hollow, 278 Doolittle St, Blacksburg

Are you brave enough? I'm not sure. This haunted house is based on the legend of Booger Jim.
